If your looking for a mix of eclectic style, colorful class and sass- Ashleigh is your girl. With over 10 years experience, outrageous style and a passion for self expression, Ashleigh isn't afraid to look outside of the box to find just the right look for you. Ashleigh's career began her Junior year in High School Cosmetology as an excuse not to take gym. Over time Ashleigh grew into her passion for hair and color. Not only that, but she discovered she had real skill when it came to making people look and feel beautiful. One of Ashleigh's favorite things about being in the beauty industry is that the product and styles are always evolving- there is always something new to learn and experience. Ashleigh is available Tuesday-Saturday by appointment. What is your greatest inspiration? My greatest source of inspiration first off is Stevi Loren herself. She's been an inspiration to me from the very first time we worked together at Great Clips in Waxahachie and she was hired on as the receptionist. She showed up for her 2nd day of work with bright, flamingo pink hair and I was just in awe of her bravery! This was over 10 years ago when not every average Joe had bright, un-natural colors in their hair. She showed me its OK to take chances and try new things, not just in my business with hair and beauty but also in life. Clients also inspire me. Sometimes all it takes is a new face with a new personality and images will flood my brain with all the different cuts, colours, and colour placements we could play with. What is one thing most people don't know about you? One thing most people don't know about me is that I can usually go 7-8 days without shampooing my hair and you would never be able to tell. Oh, and that I'm a huge fan of Tim Burton animated movies! What is your life motto? My life motto changes with the wind but I would say right now my motto would be YOLO!! You Only Live Once! Lao-Tzu Shortly after Breona's Spotlight, we announced that she would be leaving the salon to pursue a career in teaching and focus on her family! We are proud to announce that she is expecting a baby this year! Congrats Breona! We love & miss you! Now following Ivana's Spotlight, I again have to inform you of some news in the salon! Our dearest sweet Ivana who has been a part of our salon since her senior year in high school has "spread her wings" and has relocated to Corpus Christi, Texas, where she will continue to pursue her career in the hair industry. We will miss her dearly but a girl trip to meet halfway in Austin this summer has already been planned so we are making the best of it!!! I thought I would be so sad when these girls left and in a way I still am but I am so excited for them for following their hearts passion, wherever it might take them. That is so important! I am looking forward to the new faces and upcoming fresh ideas and inspiration for Stevi Loren Salon! Just wait...its gonna be FABULOUS!!! Ivana Trinidad developed a passion for the beauty industry as a junior in Cosmetology at Ennis High School, thinking that having a cosmetology license would be a "fun side job." As soon as she got hands on, she knew this would become her career. She became even more passionate working as my (Stevi) assistant her senior year in high school, when she saw the creativity, the energy and the passion from every single stylist in the salon. She loves that as a hair stylist, she has the ability to give a woman a new found confidence to take on the world with the snip of her scissors! Ivana is a Chi Color Specialist as well as being Certified for Brazilian Blowouts. She specializes in creative color, cutting, Brazilian blowouts and make up application. Ivana is available Tuesday-Saturday by appointment. What is your greatest inspiration? The limitless creativity and art that we can create and develop simply using our imagination! Aside from my passion for beauty, music, art, and love are other things that inspire me. What is one thing most people don't know about you? Something that I was taught growing up was to give. I love giving back to the community and getting involved with local charity events. As a little girl, I used to save up my little allowance and my mother would take me to the dollar store, and I would buy toys for less fortunate children for Christmas. To this day, I try to participate in giving back, whether it's donating blood, Toys for Tots, or donating to my local food bank. That has been something I've always been passionate about and I think it's important for everyone to consider others as well. What is your life motto? Hakuna Matata, of course! Sometimes you need to stop Worrying so much and go with the flow of things to actually enjoy the greatest moments of life. Lisa Johnson has been a hairstylist for over 20 years and has seen many hairstyles come and go over the years. Perhaps one of Lisa's favorite career opportunities is correcting the not so glamorous hairstyles and adding flair to them. Lisa also happens to be a hair color junkie, diving into any creative color project! "Your hair is like a book, it tells the story of your life! The stress the trauma and things we put into our bodies is shown by the health of our hair. If you are missing nourishment, your hair tells all. That is why I believe educating my clients on proper hair care is my most important priority as a stylist." Lisa specializes in creative color & styles, dreadlocks, glamorous "pin up" styling including victory rolls and make up application. What is your greatest inspiration? Hollywood fashion, make-up and hairstyles and my Glamorous Aunt Kay, of course! I always wanted to be like her -pretty inside and out! What is one thing most people don't know about you? I love old houses, mansions and bungalows! The character, the details, the passion that the builder puts into the design of the house. The more elaborate, the more its takes my breath away! What is your life motto? My grandmother always said "Pretty is as pretty does" To me this means the way you act determines your beauty. Shari Childress is a lover of all things "green" She is a vegan and is very environmentally conscious. Her work reflects who she is and her mission is simple.... Use vegan, organic & earth friendly hair products to create healthy hair styles, bring out inner beauty and impact the world one head at a time! Shari currently uses Abba Hair Care products and Moroccan Oil. She educates herself on products and styling techniques as much as possible in order to pass on her knowledge to clients. What is your greatest source of inspiration? Children. While some are sweet angels and others can seem like little devils, they all have the same thing in common. Hope! The light in a child's eyes has not yet been dimmed by past mistakes or regrets. They live only in the moment. No real responsibilities hanging over them. They believe they can be anything in life! I hope to keep the spirit of a child with me always. To a child, there are no limits and anything is possible! What is something most people don't know about you? While some of you may have guessed it but never confirmed it....Yes, I AM a fairy posing as a human!!! Seriously, though I am just a kid at heart. I just want to play in the snow in the winter and run through the sprinklers in the summer! That's why I love my job so much! Who else gets to play with colors & be creative all day and get paid for it? What motto do you live by? I think the tagline on my business card says it best "Discovering a You that You Never Knew" I feel that is true for my work motto because I want to bring out a new person in everyone that they didn't even know they had inside them. Its also my life motto because I feel like I am personally an ever changing and evolving woman. I love to learn & expand & grow. At the end of every year I get to look back and see just how different I am then when the year began. I love discovering a "new me" and I hope I never stop. Last month, we featured Breona Bates in our Spotlight. We drew names to see who would start. I am so glad we were able to feature her first because Breona no longer works at Stevi Loren. Let me explain... Breona began at Stevi Loren in June of 2009. Since that time, she has watched her 2 young boys grow, began a full time job at Ennis Junior High, has been a supportive friend and has shared in life's many ups and downs just like we all face. All the while, keeping a smile on her face, love in her heart and established a great clientele who adored her! Recently, Breona has decided to pursue her career in teaching! She plans on returning to school while still working at the Junior High and continuing to raise her boys. The salon won't be quite the same without her but we wish her the best. She has alot on her plate at the moment and we are all so proud of her for following her passion! Good Luck Breona! We know that life is unfolding exactly as it should for you! She specializes in hair weaves including sew-in extentions, quick weaves and visible parts. What is your greatest source of inspiration? My deceased grandmother is one of my biggest inspirations. She raised me to be the young woman I have become. I love her and miss her dearly. Another inspiration of mine would have to be a very unique person, Tyler Perry! He went from nothing (literally homeless) to rich & famous! He never gave up. Tyler Perry keeps me hopeful. What is one thing most people don't know about you? Believe it or not, I have a very shy side! My personality doesn't always match my appearance. I am a very outgoing kind of gal, but pink, orange or green hair styles make me very uncomfortable. I love outrageous hair on others but its not for me! What motto do you live by? My favorite motto is Live, Laugh, Love! I live because I LOVE to laugh! Laughter is good for the soul!
